Choosing To Move

RV Storage Can Protect Your RV

by Elmer Riley

If you have an RV then you want to keep it safe and well-protected when it isn't in use. Not everyone has RV parking available on their property and if you don't then you might want to put it in a storage facility. Here are some important things you are going to want to know about RV storage and why it might be a good idea for your own RV:

Your RV will not be exposed to all the damaging elements

When you leave your RV sitting in your yard fully exposed to the elements, these can take their toll on your vehicle. For example, being in the direct sunlight day after day will eventually bleach the paint on the RV. Also, the sunlight can damage the tires and leave you needing to replace them much sooner than you normally would have to. Being exposed to rain and snow a lot can also cause issues such as the development of rust in certain areas. When you have your RV in storage, it will be kept under some type of canopy or roof, or it can even be kept in an enclosed storage unit if you choose to go that route. This can help ensure it is not damaged by the elements.

Your RV will not be vandalized or stolen

If you leave your RV parked somewhere on your property, then there is the chance of someone coming onto the property and stealing things out of your vehicle or vandalizing it. Also, there is a chance of someone stealing the RV off your property. This is especially true if it is parked in an area far from the house or if you have periods of time when no one is home. When you decide to keep your RV at an RV storage facility, it will be kept behind a security fence and there will also be other security measures to protect the RVs from these types of crime.

In order to get into the RV storage facility, a person will need to enter their personal code or slide their ID card at the gate. This security method is one way to help prevent criminals from being able to get to your RV. Facilities often have security cameras set up to monitor the facility as well. There are also some guarded by security guards. Contact an RV storage facility for more information.
